Urgent reconstruction of the Filic's house
December 22, 2011. Kosovska Kamenica, Bozevce – In the semi-abandoned village of one hundred houses, there are about seventy people. Among them is the three-member family Filic. Father Momcilo, a man with a seriously damaged health, and his two little daughters Sanja (11) and Sladjana (9).
Their house was built in 2003, donated by the Coordination Center for Kosovo and Metohija; one local company was contracted to carry out construction work (“Binacka Morava”).
And nowadays, after eight years, it is not possible to live in the house due to the misconduct and poor quality of the construction. Walk around the house with no shoes is impossible, since the floor is flooded! It’s hard to warm the house – there are no windows or doors!
In addition to a difficult life at home, a sudden tragedy struck family Filic when the mother died.
Sladjana and Sonja have accepted their life. Although they lost their mother too early, they do not give up the fight for a better life. They go to the school a few miles on the foot hence the school bus cannot pick them up because of the snow.
However, there are no impediments for these diligent and hard working girls since they are deeply aware of the reality and difficult life circumstances.
They take care of everything; of the father Momcilo, home, farm animals and pets. They even share their own room with two cats. 
Their sincere smile and innocent faces welcome all unexpected visitors and leave no one indifferent. So it was with us, during our visit.
In view of the fact that they are beneficiaries of our soup kitchen, we are very familiar with all their problems. We visited them three months ago with our friends from
Humanitarian Organization “Serbs for Serbs”. On that occasion, Momcilo told us that municipality has promised him some assistance before winter. Unfortunately, help did not arrive.
With the blessing of the Bishop of Raska-Prizren Teodosije, our organization is initiating humanitarian action to rebuild Filic’s house, to give them normal life and modest home.
Most of the children dream of expensive Christmas gifts, computers, dolls, but Sanja and Sladjana’s dreams are different. They dream off a warm home, simple furniture and warm boots for the following winter.
Words are not sufficient to describe all sadness of Filic family. It is difficult to be a child in Kosovo.
We are inviting all people of good soul and all those with Kosovo in their hart to help, so that Filic family can celebrate Christmas in their own warm home.
Reconstruction of the house will begin on Monday. During the renovation, Sanja and Sladjana will be staying with one family in Zvecan.
